12 Interesting Historical WWE Royal Rumble Facts

5. The "Authority" In Having The Biggest Waste Of Time In A Royal Rumble Match

Triple H is known for his success in the Royal Rumble match. He has won the match once in 2002, and also has the record for most total time spent in the ring for his Rumble career at over 3 hours and 51 minutes. It will be a record that will stand for quite some time as most of the wrestlers behind him are no longer active (at least full-time). After a stint in WCW, Hunter Hearst Helmsley came over to WWE as someone with a lot of potential. That potential was definitely realized as not only is he a surefire WWE Hall of Famer, he will eventually be the one to take over for Vince McMahon. His first Royal Rumble match was in 1996, and he was the very first entrant. You'd think being the first entrant and spending just over 48 minutes in the Rumble match would equal a lot of success; however for the Blue Blood, it did not. His entire time in the match, he is officially credited for not throwing a single person over the top rope. Definitely a waste of time in the match for a longevity record in the top 15 or 20.
