12 New Year's Resolutions For WWE Superstars

5. Nakamura Resolves To Hang Around In NXT

The majority of wrestling fans are anxiously awaiting the day when Shinsuke Nakamura debuts on the main roster. The man many feel is the most charismatic star in the business today is currently plying his trade in NXT as the cornerstone of WWE’s developmental league, and some find his presence there insulting.

I’d suggest those fans pump the brakes on their desire to see Nakamura get the call-up. Vince McMahon and his creative teams have never shown a propensity for getting international talent over outside of the “evil foreign heel” treatment, a gimmick that has a short shelf life and doesn’t fit Shinsuke at all.

While smart fans hype Nakamura up as if he were the son of The Rock and Shawn Michaels, I’m afraid that they’re going to be sorely disappointed when he has to make the jump to either Raw or SmackDown. Will mainstream audiences react to him with the same passionate fervor that the smarks at Full Sail and NXT live events do?

Those are primarily hardcore wrestling fans and that demographic is quite different from the makeup of the red and blue brand’s fanbase. Since he’s already getting paid top guy money, he might as well resolve to remain where he can be appreciated by every fan in the arenas he performs in and put on matches with much less restriction than he’ll face on the main roster.
