12 Reasons Kurt Angle Was Brock Lesnar's Best WWE Feud

2. The Iron Man Match

Although it had looked like SummerSlam would be the big final battle between Brock and Kurt, they would meet again for one final WWE Title contest. This time it would be a sixty minute ironman match, taking place on Smackdown. It ended up being one of the finest tv matches WWE ever presented. It really was like getting a pay per view main event for free, and WWE promoted it as such in the build up. With that kind of exposure, it helped to put over Angle Lesnar as the absolute best feud of 2003. The rivarly had lasted longer than anything else that year, and it was culminating in one of WWE's biggest tv main events of all time. The match was very good. It played out with a narrative focus, with Brock Lesnar taking significant heel heat by blasting Kurt with a chair in the early going. That cost him a fall, but also put him in the driving seat for the next few falls. It eventually finished with The Beast winning 5 falls to 4, just hanging on at the end when caught in an ankle lock.
