Fans who flocked to the old Earl's Court venue on 23 April 2007 were in for a real treat. WWE lined up a WrestleMania 23 rematch between John Cena and Shawn Michaels that'd dominate the night. It was a stunning repeat, and it's ranked as one of the greatest WWE matches of all time for a reason.

Supposedly, Edge vs. Randy Orton was scheduled for the episode but got cancelled late on. That left HBK vs. Cena stranded as the only good bout UK grappling fans would see. Don't believe it? Then check this out for a rundown: Other matches included a handicap match/angle involving Vince McMahon, Shane, Umaga vs. UK stalwart Robbie Brookside, Carlito vs. The Great Khali, Melina vs. Maria and Matt Hardy vs. Trevor Murdoch.

Yep, hardly a top lineup.

Thank God for the main event or this show would’ve tanked worse than some of the old Insurrextion or Rebellion pay-per-views inflicted on fans in England. Suddenly, when you see Carlito vs. Khali up there, Bradshaw vs. Big Show from 2001 doesn't sound so bad. Right, perhaps that's a stretch, but you get the gist.

Michaels battling Cena until they were very nearly 2 pools of sweat and boots mid-ring was the only thing making tickets worth the asking price. This was also 2007, so WWE briefs weren't quite at ridiculous 'remortgage the house' prices just yet. In other words, TKO weren't onboard to make attending shows something most can only afford once per year.

Cena vs. Shawn was top quality though, at least.
