12 Times WWE Brutally CANCELLED World Championship Reigns

1. Tugboat

Somehow, this may have been a worse idea than giving Mabel a run at the top.

Before he became Typhoon of Natural Disasters fame, and before he became The Shockmaster of falling through walls infamy, Fred Ottman was Tugboat. Well, he was actually Tugboat Tyler, and then he was Tugboat Thomas, but he was Tugboat nonetheless, and he was going to main event WrestleMania 7 against Hulk Hogan.

Wrestling historians will recall that his introduction to WWF television was as a trainee of Hogan's, and this was reportedly the catalyst for the initial 'Mania 7 plans, which apparently would have played out exactly as they actually did, just with Sgt. Slaughter replaced by an overweight man wearing a sailor's cap. Indeed, Tugboat would have betrayed Hulk Hogan, Costco hot dogs, inherited racism, and everything else that forms the integrity of 'Murrica to become an Iraqi sympathiser in time for WrestleMania descending upon Los Angeles, which presumably would have also meant he would have gotten a pinfall victory over The Ultimate Warrior (!).

Thank, and this cannot be stressed enough, Christ the character didn't work out as intended. Crowning Tugboat would have been like crowning Jinder Mahal in 2017!

Oh, wait...
