12 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 5)

8. The Bastard & The Beast

Bastard PAC
AEW

What a neat little piece of dual storytelling this segment was.

Kenny Omega's interview with Tony Schiavone was interrupted by PAC on the big screen. He was backstage with Riho, barking that tonight was supposed to be his and Omega's big contract signing, but Kenny ruined it. "Clearly Michael Nakazawa means nothing to you," 'The Bastard' said, having battered the Japanese joker a few weeks ago. "Maybe we'll see just how much you care about lovely little Riho instead."

'The Best Bout Machine' stepped in, immediately consenting to their rubber match when his trainee was threatened. PAC had one last twist, though. "I hope you didn't think I was going to put my hands on a woman. I might be a 'Bastard,' but I'm not a 'Beast.' She is."

In came Nyla Rose who bulldozed Riho, powerbombed her onto a table (it always looks so much more painful when they don't break), and claimed her title shot. Rose is 2-0 in her last two matches, hence the pairing, and their first singles match totally ripped. This should be fun.
