12 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 28)

Downs...

4. Split Too Soon

Charlotte Flair Lacey Evans

Last night saw the apparent end of Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans' alliance, with 'The Queen & The Lady' having a premature falling-out following the latter's loss to SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley.

The post-match saw Evans attack Flair after Bayley had rolled her up for the victory. Charlotte fought back with a big boot before an army of referees split them up, much to the champ's amusement. All this came after an enjoyable backstage bonding segment in which they promised to "send Bayley back to the playground."

This stinks. Flair and Evans had potential as an alliance, as they have exhibited considerable chemistry in their actions thus far. Rather than being split after a couple of weeks, they could've stayed together for months, leading, inevitably, to one turning on the other, and a meaningful feud. Instead, WWE decided they didn't want to give it a chance. To hell with this goldfish booking.
