12 Ups And 16 Downs For WWE In 2018

6. Roman’s Fight For His Life

Roman Reigns Raw 22 October

This is a tough one to rank.

Obviously, Roman Reigns’ announcement this fall that he was relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship because his leukemia had returned was devastating, not just first and foremost personally for the man behind the character, but also for the company that had finally gotten behind Roman months (or even years) later than it should have.

Whatever you think of Roman Reigns the character, Joe Anoa’i deserves all the well-wishes and prayers everyone can muster. It’s ridiculously horrible timing for his career to get derailed by a life-threatening illness. Obviously, fans are hoping he Superman Punches cancer and can get bak to doing what he loves.

Let’s just hope his struggle isn’t played for TV ratings in the new year.
