12 Ups And 16 Downs For WWE In 2018
Downs...

One of the oddest storylines of the year has to be the on-again, off-again rivalry/friendship between Bayley and Sasha Banks.
The two came into the year as friends with a growing rivalry, which was amplified through the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. It boiled over just before WrestleMania, which you would have thought would have led to a PPV match between the two. But they spent the spring and summer attacking each other and were forced into counseling by GM Kurt Angle.
They emerged with Banks professing her love to Bayley, which prompted some (including this writer) to presume WWE was going with a same-sex relationship angle – which was something Stephanie McMahon had said was a possibility in the near future.
Instead, they formed a tag team that has spent the past several months battling the Riott Squad over and over and over. It’s all gone in an odd direction, so much so that even if they win the new women’s tag titles and then split, it’s all been put out there already – the distrust, the split, and the fighting, with Corey Graves predicting weekly that Sasha will turn on Bayley.
