Regardless of how fans feel about John Cenas act, he spent most of 2015 churning out some of the best matches on WWE programming week in and week out. His John Cena United States Championship open challenge became a staple of Raw each week. Before his feud with Kevin Owens began, it was interesting to see who would stroll down the ramp to take a swing at the champ. Dean Ambrose, Stardust, Zack Ryder, Sami Zayn and Neville all have had their shots, and while Cena has come out on top, each of them got a good to great match with him. Cenas feud with Owens put the former NXT Champion on the map in WWE, providing him with the best launch to a WWE career in ages. Cenas two matches against Cesaro catapulted the Swiss Superman right to the top of fans conversations and prompted the return of the Cesaro Section signs in force. (Sadly, an injury rendered that momentum null and void.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0nsoap5JBY Some fans will say that Cena buried his opponents by beating all comers (save for Seth Rollins and Alberto Del Rio), but when youre a 15-time world champion, youre supposed to win the vast majority of your matches. A lot of the guys mentioned above got prime TV time to showcase their skills, and several of them impressed. The fact that most of them had those performances squandered by the creative team not capitalizing is not their (or Cenas) fault.
