12 Ups And 22 Downs For WWE In 2015

18. Tough To Watch

WWE€™s latest incarnation of Tough Enough was a disaster, plain and simple. And no, that€™s not because WWE had to replace one of its judges €“ Hulk Hogan €“ midway through the show. The weird hybrid style of the show €“ large parts were recorded, but the judging portion was live €“ was disjointed and didn€™t work. The judges apparently only saw what we saw on TV, which was vastly different than every other incarnation, where the trainers are the judges. As far as we know, trainers Billy Gunn, Booker T and Lita had little input in who the bottom performers were. The program itself wasn€™t well-watched and wasn€™t nearly as entertaining as its MTV predecessors. The nature of the voting €“ fans via Twitter €“ might have seemed like a great idea to get fans involved via social media, but it backfired dramatically when out-of-shape goofball ZZ and meek plain girl Sara Lee made it to the finals, with Sara Lee winning the women€™s contract. Consider that runners-up like Mada, Amanda, Daria and Patrick all received contracts afterward (yes, ZZ got one too), and that gives you an idea of what WWE thought of the voting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-B_qKpxSWc Maybe Josh (the men€™s winner) will turn out to be a star and justify Tough Enough, but it seems like it simply served to put a clown like ZZ on television to make a mockery of the system.
