12 Wrestlers Who Looked COMPLETELY Out Of Place In Other Promotions
10. Barry Windham In The WWF
Future NWA heart throb Barry Windham did work for the WWF between 1984-1985, and again in 1989, but he's best-remembered for his NWA/WCW work. It isn't even close. In Atlanta, Barry was a hoss who could move with the agility of a cat, and it's perhaps no wonder he won so much gold in the promotion across multiple spells.
By 1996, various injuries had caught up to Windham and he was a shadow of the worker he'd been before. Nonetheless, the WWF tried him on as 'The Stalker' before he formed The New Blackjacks with Bradshaw in early-1997. Once that experiment faded, he had arguably his worst run in the company yet.
Jim Cornette's woefully outdated NWA invasion faction.
Barry stood next to Corny, The Rock N' Roll Express, Jeff Jarrett, New Midnight Express members 'Bombastic' Bob Holly and 'Bodacious' Bart Gunn, as well as Dan Severn here or there. In a word, it was crap. Totally useless. Federation fans wanted 'Attitude', not some retro throwback to the territory days, and that made Windham and pals look like they'd just stepped out of a time machine after rocketing into the future from 1986.
Big Baz was slow, lacked the finesse he had in his prime, and he was working a gimmick that was supposed to bore everyone to tears. Mission accomplished in that sense, at least. Windham deserved better than to be a fish out of water during a period when 'Stone Cold', The Rock and D-Generation X ruled the roost. He really did.
