12 WWE Superstars Who Weren’t Drafted (And Why)

7. Robert Roode

Sadly, you won't be seeing Robert Roode soon-ish.

The 'Glorious' one and ex-Dirty Dawg alongside Dolph Ziggler is on the sidelines nursing a serious neck injury. Who knows when he'll be back? Recent reports suggest it'd be a minor miracle if Bobby roared back into view before the end of 2023. Maybe he has next year's Royal Rumble in his crosshairs.

That's a total guess, of course. The important thing is that Roode gets healthy and returns at the right time when there's no risk of re-injury. He's one hell of a talent, and would be a fine addition to Raw or SmackDown (or as a legacy star on NXT?) when he comes back.

Again, like other injured names Tommaso Ciampa and R-Truth, it wouldn't have made sense for WWE to announce Robert in the 2023 Draft. They'll bide their time on his next move, and that's for the best. Fingers crossed everyone can sing that sumptuous entrance track again someday.
