In 2004, 'The Rise and Fall of ECW' DVD set the benchmark for all future WWE documentaries. With old rivalries dead and a mammoth video library to draw from, the company were able to present a largely unbiased, insightful, and startlingly honest appraisal of the defunct Philly group. And it sold like hot cross buns, shipping so many copies that Vince McMahon was convinced to exhume the brand for the One Night Only PPV.

Don't expect the resurrected title which accompanied the subsequent mess of a revival which followed to feature in this new history.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
