Look! Some lesser-spotted synergy from an article looking at things that need to happen on WrestleMania 42! Remarkably, yours truly hasn't changed his mind on Randy Orton becoming WWE Champion over the past couple of days. That's still on the betting slip, because it'd give 'The Viper' his 15th World Title in the company and shake things up on SmackDown amidst a pretty uninspired repeat babyface run for Cody Rhodes.

Forget all of the Pat McAfee stuff for a second. Actually, how could you when he's been running around with the WWE Title on episodes of SmackDown instead of the champ he's trying to facilitate (Orton). Even Cody has hit the media to shake his head at what TKO are up to with this storyline, and that speaks volumes even if the champ is still sort of working his comments shoot-story-style.

He better be careful not to be a jabroni mark who shoots so hard he works himself into a shoot work, brother.

To paraphrase Lance Storm, if we can be serious for a minute: Winning the title at 'Mania 42 would be a big, big deal for Randy. It's...bothersome that he's playing second fiddle to Pat on TV right now, but a cold, calculated version of Orton holding the biggest belt in the land on SmackDown sounds like precisely what that show needs.

The biggest problem WWE may have would be keeping Orton heel. That's if you even view him as a heel considering all of the cheers he gets. Often, they're louder than Cody's!
