13 Things We Learned From Dark Side Of The Ring: Daffney

10. Mick Foley Asked To Work With Her

Spruill was originally reintroduced to wrestling fans as "The Governor". This was a parody of Sarah Palin that started in late-2008, and it caught the eye of many notable names backstage. Mick Foley joined TNA around the same time, and he thought Shannon's change back to Daffney alongside Stevie Richards was fascinating. "I wanted her on my team", Mick added.

So, the 'Hardcore Legend' went to TNA figureheads and said he'd love to do something on-screen with Richards and Daffney. Being honest, nobody in TNA was going to say no to Foley given his status as a huge get from WWE, so he could've pitched working a series of matches vs. Perry Saturn's ex-flame 'Moppy" and they'd have probably gone for it.

Besides, Daffney was hitting with TNA fans again like it had done over on the WCW side a decade or so ago, so Mick was onto something. This just goes to show how keen Foley has always been to help others out and give them a leg up the ladder into featured spots on TV. Others believed in him when important players didn't (namely, Vince McMahon), so it meant a lot to Mick to help Shannon and Stevie out like Jim Ross and The Undertaker had for him back between 1996-1998.

Unfortunately, this led to an incident that'd change Spruill's life forever. Nobody could've known that at the time, and no-one's pointing fingers of blame here, but there were conflicting reports about what happened at Bound For Glory 2009 on this week's episode.

Be warned, because things are about to get very bleak.
