13 Wrestlers Who Were Better In NJPW Than They Were In TNA
6. Jushin Thunder Liger
It's hard finding a company Liger hasn't worked for.
In TNA he made a special appearance to open Bound For Glory '05 against Samoa Joe. He later beat Petey Williams at Sacrifice '06, later losing to that same man in a gauntlet match that took place that same night.
Liger's career would persist another 13 years, with him returning to NJPW and even having two reigns with the IWGP junior heavyweight tag belts. It'd be there that he'd see the continued evolution of the juniors' division, taking on future legends like Prince Devitt, Ryusuke Taguchi, and The Golden Star, Kota Ibushi. Liger also saw action against the current crop of juniors, such as El Desperado, Marty Scurll, and Hiromu Takahashi. While in NJPW he would be a consistent participant in the BOSJ tournament and would have a run of engaging retirement matches leading up to his last match in the dome.
With Liger always maintaining a high work-rate and never being sidelined for too long with injuries, the junior division will certainly feel an emptiness without his constant presence in tournaments, tag team matches, and backstage interviews. Still though, he's shown excellent skill at commentary and will continue to be an enduring icon of Japanese culture like Antonio Inoki or Tiger Mask.
