Once dubbed "the Chosen One," Drew McIntyre is now a rock and roll wannabe in a comedy act trio. If that is not a case of bookers screwing over a performer, what is? The talented Scot debuted in WWE way back in 2007 as a tag team partner and associate of Dave Taylor. He made a few appearances on SmackDown and Raw but disappeared shortly thereafter. When he returned in 2009, he was a much better, more polished worker and was put over by Vince McMahon as being the "Chosen One," the next big star for the company. The push he received out of the gate indicated that McMahon may actually see him that way behind the scenes, too. After wins over R-Truth and a victory in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match, McIntyre defeated John Morrison to capture the Intercontinental Championship in December at TLC. McIntyre competed in Money in the Bank at WrestleMania XXVI and would lose his title to Kofi Kingston in May of 2010 at Over the Limit. Still, despite the loss, he remained one of the featured villains on SmackDown. He feuded with Teddy Long and used his power, from his relationship with McMahon, to get what he wanted. After that initial push concluded, however, everything was downhill for McIntyre. He was drafted to Raw, where he wallowed away with nothing to do. He lost a number of matches but still appeared on the occasional pay-per-view card, such as WrestleMania 28. Finally, he was thrown together with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal in a group known as 3MB, a trio of somewhat delusional wannabe rockers. They were absolutely jobbers for the company, a comedy act that creative could through out onto the air, get a few laughs and ultimately get crushed. Today, McIntyre remains part of the group. Through sheer determination, the group has managed to get itself over, despite the absurdity and stupidity of the gimmick, and has received increased airtime in 2014.
