13 WWE WrestleMania Matches Where The Wrong Person Won
1. Booker T Vs. Triple H - WrestleMania 19
If there was ever a match in the history of WrestleMania where the wrong person won, this is it.
During the infamous Invasion angle, Booker T was presented as one of the biggest names opposing the WWE. Following the Invasion, Booker T was still treated well, being placed in feuds against top stars like Steve Austin and The Rock, even eliminating the latter to become number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 19.
In the leadup to their match, Booker T and World Heavyweight Champion Triple H's feud took a turn for the worse. While never outright saying it, the build between The Game and the future King Booker was filled with racial undertones. Triple H referred to Booker's criminal history, threw dollar bills at him, told him to pick up his towels, and controversially said people like Booker T did not get to be World Champion.
While all of this was borderline crossing the line, it all would have been forgotten about had Booker T defeated Triple H. Thoughts of the WCW star not being good enough could have been expelled had he walked out of WrestleMania with the World Heavyweight Championship.
Not only did that not happen, Triple H did seemingly everything possible to make Booker T look as weak as possible. Following a Pedigree, The Game took 30 seconds to crawl over and pin Booker for the finish, seemingly confirming what Triple H said, at least in the eyes of WWE.
