Arguably the biggest name never to have entered WWE, fans nearly blew the roof off the building when Sting debuted at Survivor Series 2014. Having spent much of his time in WCW fighting the nWo, it made sense when The Vigilante came to the aide of Dolph Ziggler to right the wrongs of Triple H and The Authority.

Despite the Stinger's age, WWE rightfully treated his arrival as the major deal that is was. Leading into WrestleMania 31, both Triple H and Sting made it clear that their rivalry was not about rehashing The Monday Night Wars but about The Icon making The Game pay for his dishonourable rise to power. Once the two legends got to Levi Stadium and WrestleMania, all that went out the window.

An admittedly solid matchup soon turned into faction warfare. D-Generation X came to the ring, taking advantage of the No Disqualification stipulation to help their former leader. In response, Sting's greatest rival in WCW, the nWo, came to his defense to fight off DX. Shawn Michaels was the final man to get involved, delivering Sweet Chin Music to Sting to save his best friend.

Once this battle broke out into WCW vs. WWE, it was obvious that Vince McMahon would not let his company look weak by losing, no matter how long ago the Monday Night Wars were. Triple H would win, defeating The Icon in Sting's first and only WrestleMania match.
