14 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 29)

7. Sammy Guevara Is A Star

While the bout with Hangman Page was primarily designed to put the victor over as a star, Sammy Guevara deserves special praise here as he was absolutely magnificent throughout.

This was his most impressive AEW performance yet. It helps that he has a gift of a face (the kind you'd never tire of slapping), but when he saunters out like a chihuahua with a 12-inch penis and Justin Roberts announces him as 'The Best Ever,' you've gotta boo. You just have to. His snottiness is unparalleled.

Guevara was on a different level in every department here. His athletic spots were quick and snappy and his character work was sublime. A great moment saw him climb the top rope then take his time rising to his feet, teasing a flippydoo, only for him to step down and slap Page right across his face. Excellent, excellent stuff.

He'll have to wait a while for his turn, but Sammy is a star in the making. He's one of countless roster members that this promotion has already enhanced just five weeks into its televised lifespan.
