14 Wrestlers Who Should Probably Regret Leaving WWE

7. Ravishing Rick Rude

In 1987, Rick Rude made his debut in WWE after years of wrestling throughout different territories of the National Wrestling Alliance. Upon his debut, Rude was pushed as a member of The Heenan Family with immediate success. Rude had epic battles with Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper & The Ultimate Warrior during his time with WWE. Rude had a series of matches with newly crowned WWE Champion, The Ultimate Warrior, but we never able to defeat Warrior for the gold. Unfortunately, the late Rick Rude left WWE in 1990. Circumstances around his departure have been speculated upon for years, but most signs point to Rude's failure to stay in top contention for the WWE Championship as a reason for leaving the company. He never received a long-term run against Hulk Hogan and was consistently put back in the ring with The Ultimate Warrior. While Rick Rude went on to have great success in WCW (even becoming their World Champion), he suffered a career ending back injury in a match against Sting. With the way things ended up in the WCW, one has to wonder if Rick Rude regretted his decision to leave WWE. How would his career have turned out if he stuck around through the transition into The New Generation and The Attitude Era as an active competitor?
