The Undertaker is arguably the greatest character in WWE history. At a glance, an undead phenom doesnt sound like it would make for many believable matches, but Undertakers ability to play the character is exemplary. Hes also a fantastic in-ring performer, providing us with some of the most exciting matches weve come to witness over the last few decades. There are countless matches to choose from to back up Undertakers amazing storytelling ability, which not only evoked emotion in us but also contributed to The Deadman becoming one of the biggest names in the industry. The Hell in a Cell match against Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII immediately springs to mind for me. I may be biased, as I was in attendance for the event, but the goosebumps I felt during that match were unbelievable. The Undertaker went into the match with a lot to prove. Hed emerged successful the year beforehand, but was unable to leave the ring under his own power, and so hed wallowed in his own sorrow for months and months before Triple H finally accepted a rematch. The match itself was epic, with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee, and The Undertaker emerged victorious after delivering a tombstone piledriver to The Game. Subtle moments like Undertaker shaking his head when Triple H went for the sledgehammer one last time, and the way hed call Michaels off from ending the match when it looked like Triple H was going to do serious damage make it one of my all-time favourite matches, and just showed all three men as excellent performers.
