15 Interpromotional WWE Dream Matches We Need To See In 2016

8. Shinsuke Nakamura (NJPW) Vs. Alberto Del Rio (WWE)

On paper, this is a very interesting matchup. Both men are very similar in terms of size, age, and experienced and they both have a legitimate MMA background. They even share a finishing maneuver in the cross armbreaker. Where they differ intensely is in their personal styles: Del Rio is a no-nonsense, strait-laced competitor. Nakamura, meanwhile, once entered the ring through a literal forest of poledancers. At the time of this writing, this would also be a champion vs. champion match: Nakamura recently regained his beloved IWGP Intercontinental Championship, while Alberto currently holds the both the WWE US Title and AAA Mega Championship. This is basically the modern version of something like NWA champ Ric Flair traveling to Winnipeg to wrestle AWA champ Nick Bockwinkel, but with WAY more thigh-slapping. What Should Happen: A long armbar reversal sequence ends with Alberto getting his ear kneed so hard it comes out his other ear.
