15 Most Notoriously Unstable Wrestling Stars

7. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle Arrest Before he became a professional wrestling icon, Kurt Angle was an Olympic Gold Medallist, figuring out whether or not he wanted to get into this professional wrestling lark. He had a very clean cut image and brand to protect. In fact, one night after attending an ECW event, he threatened Paul Heyman with legal action if he promoted his appearance, because he wanted no link to the bloodbath he had just witnessed. So it was a bit of a surprise to fans when in more recent years, Angle€™s life appeared to spin out of control, and it became clear that he was becoming a more unstable liability for his employers with every day that passed. Having had a catalogue of serious injuries (remember this man won a gold medal wrestling with a broken neck), it is logical that he would have to use a copious amount of painkillers. The gruelling schedule of WWE meant that he just couldn€™t keep up anymore and he shocked the world by signing with TNA in 2006. But rather than this being the end of his problems this is really where they began. While TNA were no doubt thrilled with snatching one of the biggest names in the business, Angle has not been an easy customer to deal with at times. Between 2007 and 2013 Angle hit the bottle very hard and became a full-fledged alcoholic. This alcoholism led to Angle being arrested no less than four times for driving drunk, in addition to being accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend, and having illegal possession of performance enhancing drugs. During this time his marriage fell apart and his wife Karen remarried Jeff Jarrett (and this was inexplicably used as a storytelling device). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTpGiRBwb5E In 2013 after yet another arrest for drunk driving, Angle finally checked himself into rehab, and thankfully for all the family, friends, and fans that love him, he seems to have stabilised considerably and is enjoying a life of sobriety.
