15 WWE Stars Who Will Make An Impact In 2016

2. Roman Reigns

Love him or hate him, Roman Reigns is here to stay, and while he's come so close on many occasion over the last twelve months, 2016 will be the year where Reigns officially dominates the competition as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. We saw the dawn of the Roman Empire the night after TLC, and the way he's been going against The Authority lately, including Vince McMahon himself, means WWE is looking to get fans behind him using the same technique that helped Daniel Bryan and Steve Austin, a formula that's proven successful for WWE on multiple occasions. Man vs. Corporate Machine. Since Rollins is currently absent from programming, and things didn't seem to be going well for Sheamus' championship reign as far as ratings were concerned, it was just a matter of time before Reigns found himself atop the WWE mountain. But where does he go from here? There are a number of possibilities, the most likely of which is a match against Triple H at WrestleMania 32, considering how physical the two have been getting at recent Pay-Per-View events. A rematch against Brock Lesnar probably isn't out of the question either. Or, and perhaps this would be the smarter option, Reigns could square off against his best friend and former Shield brethren, Dean Ambrose on the grandest stage of them all. A lot of people were hoping for a Shield triple threat to main-event the big show this year, but just because Rollins isn't on the scene shouldn't mean that Ambrose has to miss out. If anything, he's the most logical and deserving person to face Reigns. As long as they handled Ambrose's inevitable heel turn correctly, it could be the must-see match at this year's 'Mania. Defeating his best friend and going on to defend the world championship throughout the summer until Seth Rollins makes a return, Roman Reigns could easily find himself as the face of the company for most of 2016.
