15 WWE Title Changes That IMMEDIATELY Backfired

Title Change: Local favourites Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn won the Women’s Tag-Team Tiles from Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill in a Triple Threat that also involved Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark during Clash At The Castle 2024. This was only done to give the Scots a hometown pop in Glasgow, Scotland, and it worked a treat. People acted like Drew McIntyre had won the Rumble or something. Never gonna' happen. Ahem!

Why It Backfired: Winning gold in front of a hometown crowd proved to be a lovely moment for them personally, but it was obvious immediately that WWE had no intentions of pushing Fyre and Dawn properly on TV afterwards. Thus, they did pretty much nothing of note before dropping the titles back to Bianca and Jade at Bash In Berlin that August

So much for that.

This was a wasted opportunity. Fyre and Dawn had shown some erm...fire when promo'ing about having a witchy-like curse on the Women's Tag-Team belts. If others dared to hold them, then they'd suffer from this curse. That compelling story was quickly squashed by WWE creative for no justifiable reason whatsoever. Did they want these lassies to get over or not?

At times, both were treated like borderline enhancement workers once WWE returned to the United States from that jolly jaunt to Scotland. Writers scripting Raw and SmackDown could not have seemed less interested in the duo as soon as their arms were held aloft in front of a booming Hydro.

Worse, losing scuffed the previously shiny form of Bianca and Jade. They really didn't need to be dropping belts just to get a one-night hometown pop out of some Glaswegians. Sorry, but they really didn't.
