Rey's first PPV match with the company was the opening bout of Summerslam 2002. Fans remember it as a classic match on a night of classic matches, Angle and Mysterio had great chemistry from the off, something that would be in evidence throughout the era of the Smackdown Six, a period of months during late 2002 when Edge, Mysterio, Chavo, Eddie Angle and Benoit were all feuding with each other in wall-to-wall amazing matches.
