17 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 30)

17. Love For The Announcers

Pat McAfee Michael Cole
WWE

SmackDown opened with the typical flyover.

One sign popped into view immediately. Was it for John Cena? Nope. Roman Reigns? Forget about it. Nah, the first piece of card that WWE's cameras caught was all about Michael Cole and Pat McAfee. What's more, it suggested that they run for office in 2024.

The pair have blossomed into a great duo on Fridays, but they might not be a good fit for that Presidential run gig. Leave that to Bob Backlund. Or The Rock.

16. What Cena Said

John Cena Paul Heyman
WWE

Last week, Paul Heyman caught some headlines for singing John Cena's entrance theme on karaoke. This week, Cena decided to reveal his thoughts on Heyman's effort: JC would give it a solid 10/10, would listen again and actually thinks it's better than his proper theme.

He's joking, of course.

Cena barked, "This doesn't sound as good as the Paul Heyman remix" on his way to the ring for that show-opening promo. Maybe someone should start a petition for Heyman to sing Cena's song like Sherri did for Shawn Michaels in the 90s?

15. Predicting The Future

Sasha Banks Fan Sign John Cena
WWE

Ooer.

There was a sign that showed up mid-Cena entrance to spoil the surprise. Well, sort of. It read, "Go Sasha", and was (of course) referring to one Sasha Banks. The 'Legit Boss' then returned to action later that night to first help then turn on Bianca Belair.

Did fans in Minnesota know that? Perhaps she was advertised locally.
