17 WWE Problems Only Kane Would Understand

14. No Facial Expressions, No Talking

Kane's lack of expression must have been frustrating for Jacobs. He obviously couldn't use facial expressions, but he was also unable to speak. How on earth could he have a long term future with such restrictions on his character? What kind of story could he tell with such limited opportunities? Thankfully, the WWF rectified this in 1999, when they redesigned the Kane mask and allowed him to speak. His first words were "Suck it" as part of his involvement with X Pac and D Generation X. That opened up a whole new world for Kane, as he went on to prove that he's one of the most assured WWE mic workers. But those first few years with no ability to cut promos, it must have felt brutally restrictive as he saw so many others getting over big on the mic. Then again, the lack of expression did add an air of enigma.
