17 WWE Superstars Who Mysteriously Lost A Name
12. Faarooq (Assad) and (Justin) Bradshaw
Today, WWE calls them Ron Simmons and JBL, but the once-Acolytes were known by different names at the height of their in-ring fame. In fact, during old school reunion segments, Michael Cole will usually straight-up call them "Faarooq and Bradshaw." I appreciate the continuity nod, but where's the love for their original, goofy-as-Hell names?
Bradshaw, when he was cosplaying Stan Hansen and managed by Dutch Mantell, was called Justin. And "Hawk". Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw. He wasn't even vaguely aquiline and never once noted what a rush something was, so I'm not sure of that nickname's origin. Faarooq Assad was Ron Simmons working history's worst Spartacus gimmick with a powder blue Nerf helmet on. He dropped the "Assad" just before starting a Nation of Islam gimmick, because Vince McMahon loves black stereotypes while simultaneously being terrible at them.
