19 Wrestlers From Raw's Debut Year Who Are No Longer With Us
17. Gorilla Monsoon
Gorilla Monsoon was one of the best commentators that ever graced the airwaves for WWE and his chemistry with Bobby Heenan was obvious to anybody, whether they were an ardent fan or were viewing a wrestling show for the first time. Monsoon only made a single proper appearance during the first year of Raw and, as usual, he was interacting with The Brain. When Heenan left the company in 1993 it was Gorilla Monsoon who showed up to kick him out of the building on the December 6th edition of Raw. Monsoon eventually went on to take up the role of WWE President before retiring from the business altogether. He passed away of heart failure that was brought on as a result of complications relating to diabetes in 1999 at the age of 62.
