2 Huge Championship Matches Made Official For WWE Fastlane 2021

Two monumental Championship encounters were officially confirmed on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

After cutting one of the finest promos you're likely to see in 2021 during the show-opening segment, Daniel Bryan was finally able to best (always loses in the) 'Main Event' Jey Uso inside of a steel cage. This means that 'The Leader of the YES Movement' will finally get a fair crack at Roman Reigns' Universal Championship at Fastlane, scrapping plans for a tag match at the PPV involving Bryan teaming with Edge to take on 'The Tribal Chief' and his cousin.

Elsewhere, WWE announced on social media yesterday that SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks and her WrestleMania 37 opponent Bianca Belair will join forces once again to challenge Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the Women's Tag Team titles at the March 21 event. This match was then confirmed on last night's show, with Baszler and Jax retaining their belts against Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez on Wednesday's NXT by the skin of their teeth.

With these two matches alone, WWE's first PPV show on Peacock is shaping up to be a mouth-watering prospect.
