2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW: Battle Of The Belts II
1. Signs A Heel Turn Is Incoming
AEW fans have been booing Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti on and off for a while now. Their antics here, despite coming against definite heels like Men Of The Year, suggest that All Elite know they must turn the pair properly soon. It's inevitable, and necessary.
Sammy's smug expressions alone makes him a better heel than face.
Some promo bragging about Guevara being the new TNT Champ and bedding Conti every night should do the trick. It's heel 101, but it'd work due to Sammy's slappable mug. No, it's not great that Scorp just got shoved to the side when he hadn't exactly been tanking as champion, but the Guevara/Tay duo can rescue something out of all this.
Sammy as a brash young heel who knows he's hot sh*t and rubs his lifestyle in everyone's faces would be a neat counterpoint to hardworking everyman Hangman Page at the top of the title tree. It's important that AEW has clear differences between each champ anyway.
