20 Greatest WWE SmackDown Matches Ever

5. Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle Vs Edge & Rey Mysterio (November 7, 2002)

A two-out-of-three falls rematch between the first and future WWE Tag Team Champions was marginally worse than the stone cold classic the quartet assembled at No Mercy a month earlier, but the quality of their original encounter was so high that it raised the bar exponentially for all the other tandems not part of the glorious 'SmackDown Six'.

As they'd done since forming for the original tag tournament to crown brand new champions, Edge and Mysterio showed amazing babyface fire against the precision professionals. Their unique offence and counter game (Rey's round-the-post 619 popped boys and eyes when first deployed) afforded them a spectacular victory.
