There are few better ways to go out than the one Trish Stratus experienced in September 2006. In front of her hometown fans in Toronto, Stratus challenged Lita for the Women's Championship in a match that not only brought her iconic career to a close but, at the same time, wrote the final chapter in the greatest rivalry women's wrestling in WWE ever produced.

Though Lita rose to prominence as an immensely popular, alternative babyface Diva, she thrived as a villain. She controlled the pace of the match, wearing her opponent down and creating a shred of doubt that the hometown heroine would pull out the victory.

As was the case so many times throughout her career, Stratus fought her way back into the match and captured the title for the seventh time by using the finishing move of Canada's greatest export, Bret Hart's Sharpshooter.

The fans exploded, commentators Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler applauded the new champion and WWE had the greatest match of its golden era of women's wrestling.
