20 Incredible John Cena Matches To Binge-Watch Before He Retires
11. John Cena vs Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar - Royal Rumble 2015
A match that pitted different generations and styles against one another culminated in one of the most action-packed matches John Cena has ever partaken in. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was riding high after a landmark 2014 in which he broke The Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania 30, and conquered John Cena in the ass-beating heard around the world at SummerSlam.
With Seth Rollins having been ordained as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's new leader of The Authority, as well as holding the Money In The Bank briefcase, Cena had everything against him in a triple threat offering against Lesnar and Rollins at the 2015 Royal Rumble. That wasn't helped by the opening of the match, as Seth high-tailed it out of the ring, leaving Lesnar to hit an instant German Suplex on Cena, reminding him and the watching audience of the annihilation Cena had taken the previous summer.
If styles make fights, this was a doozy. Seth Rollins was at his physical peak, putting in the kind of performance that has seen him live in the main event scene ever since. The pace of this match is unrelenting, too, with Cena's best moment coming while hitting the AA to Authority stooges Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury simultaneously.
Brock Lesnar picked up the victory after hitting the F5 on Seth Rollins just as it looked like Seth was going to win his first World Championship, but all three of these men came out of the match with greater reputations.
