Well, they only went and bloody did it. With 15,000 strong calling out for their hometown hero, All Elite Wrestling delivered something we never thought we'd ever had the pleasure of seeing; CM Punk ice cream bars!
Oh, and none other than The Best in the World himself - don't worry, Shane McMahon was busy that Friday.
All jokes aside, this was truly a moment in wrestling history when time completely stood still. The roof of The United Center came unglued. A teary-eyed prodigal son crowd dived mid-way entrance. And the one-time WWE man even took the time to cross his legs and tell us a story. If you haven't watched this moment back 50-times in the last few days already, we forgive you... but, seriously, go back and watch this again ASAP. We don't get to enjoy nice things a lot, and this was all rather nice.
In typical All Elite fashion, there was no time to sit pretty in the past or present. The future was the main focus, and Punk quickly set about calling out a certain Darby Allin (with Sting in his corner) for a comeback match at All Out. Wrestling is off its t*ts in 2021.
Away from the Chick Magnet madness on Friday night, Dynamite also saw Le Champion come up short in his final labour as MJF tapped out his former mentor. Stinger simultaneously tapped out one of the smartest acquisition of recent times in his TNT in-ring return. And Sammy Guevara got engaged in more ways than one, beating the p*ss out of Shawn Spears and proposing to his beloved on Wednesday night.
The last seven days in Tony Khan's company may have been the biggest yet, but this could just be the beginning of the next epic phase in the Land of All Elite's development.
