20 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Wrestled For AEW

Jeff Cobb's one-match appearance for All Elite Wrestling is a moment lost in professional wrestling history.

Officially debuting on the 12 Feburay 2020 edition of Dynamite after being announced earlier in the night by Chris Jericho, 'Mr. Athletic' debuted the following week to soften up Jon Moxley for 'Le Champion' at the impending Revolution pay-per-view. The match was a hoot obviously, with Cobb playing his role well. He wasn't there to be this athletic, 265-pound, freak of nature who could pull off a standing Moonsault better than most. If he had done this, the typically smarky AEW fans would push towards cheering for this guy who was destroying their hero.

Instead, he played exactly what he was brought in as; a hired gun.

The former Matanza Cueto picked Mox apart expertly, with the future AEW World Champion selling beautifully for his offence. Cobb, rather than using his body mass to obliterate 'The Purveyor of Violence', instead relied on an array of heavy strikes to tear Jon down. His clubbing Lariat looked like it legitimately winded Moxley.

It's a mystery as to why Cobb hasn't shown up in AEW since, even more so now that the company has a working relationship in place with Cobb's home promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling. Still, a banger of a match regardless.
