5. Judy Bagwell Becomes WCW Tag-Team Champion
Long before Vince Russo installed himself as WCW World Champion, the promotion's management made an equally as strange decision. Buff Bagwell's mother became a WCW Tag-Team Champion. Years later, Judy would become known to wrestling fans due to Jim Ross claiming she regularly phoned WWE offices to 'call in sick' for her son. Incredibly, she also held title gold. Obviously, Judy Bagwell was not a professional wrestler. Officially, it was claimed after this nonsensical storyline that Kenny Kaos was actually Rick Steiner's championship partner. Due to injury however, he couldn't make one match on Nitro against Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell. Instead of simply filling the slot with another wrestler, WCW higher-ups decided Judy would be perfect. Slapping her son, Buff, the mother had a Tag-Team Title belt strapped around her waist throughout the segment. Fans looked on, bemused, and the entire incident did little for the duo division. Kaos would be back soon enough, but when Rick Steiner wet down with injury the pair were stripped of the titles. For one night only, Judy Bagwell was a stand-in WCW Tag-Team titleholder.
