7. Chris Benoit - 208 Matches

There was a period in 2003 when it felt like Chris Benoit was Smackdown. He just embodied what the show was all about, straight up wrestling action. He was fantastic as an in-ring worker. He appeared on Smackdown several times between 2000 - 2002, memorably in a classic home-town match with Stone Cold Steve Austin in May 2001. From mid-2002 until 2004, he was a Smackdown exclusive. It was in that period when he really got himself over and epitomised Smackdown as a brand. He contested some classic tag matches in 2002, before having excellent singles matches against the likes of Kurt Angle, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero and Brock Lesnar in 2003.
