5. Eric Escobar
Eric Escobar was a five year veteran of the Puerto Rican wrestling scene when he was signed by WWE in 2005. He was stationed in developmental leagues for the next four years, but frequently worked house shows and dark matches prior to his call up in September 2009. Escobar was brought into Smackdown under the management of top heel Vicki Guerrero. There wasn't much story or reason as to why they were together, other than 'Vickie went to Puerto Rico and found this guy' but they did their best with what they had. Escobar looked okay in matches and in interviews but WWE clearly weren't convinced. The company removed him (and four others) from Team Smackdown at Bragging Rights. They were p***ed off, and rightfully so. Still, Escobar kept his head down and continued with the task at hand. WWE split him and Vickie, who booked him in a series of handicap matches as punishment. He was released on January 17th, 2010.
