6. 2012: The Beast Is Back
Ah, yes: the classic prodigal son story.
A boy leaves his family and goes out into the world. After a long and tumultuous journey, the son returns home to the jubilation of his father. The son then F5s the father, punches a hole in the fattest calf, and drinks its blood in one sitting.
What, that's not how you remember the story? Well, clearly, you weren't paying attention in Sunday school, Timmy. Your grandmother would be ashamed of you. Anyway, the night after WrestleMania XXVIII, Brock Lesnar and WWE healed their wounds and had a big emotional reunion. The fans were overjoyed to see The Beast return from UFC, and they were even more ecstatic to see him pummel their favorite punching bag John Cena. It was quite the rush of grit and meat in an otherwise stale concoction of fluff and sugar that was WWE in 2012.
While it's true the fans have gone back and forth on Brock due to the nature of his status as a part-time performer, for one night at least, he was the hero we needed.
