18. The Queens Crown Tournament

The evolution of women's wrestling in the last decade may not have moved at the pace that fans have wanted, but it has undoubtedly been going in the right direction. This hasn't been without its pitfalls, and 2021's Queen's Crown Tournament had all the trappings that held women back in the past.

Billed as an alternative to King Of The Ring, this 8-woman tournament was given anything but equal opportunity. No match in the quarter finals or semi finals went longer than 3 minutes, while King Of The Ring was given its usual fanfare and substantially longer matches. This is made even worse when you consider that it's an already established brand, and the Queen's Crown was trying to establish credibility in its inaugural year.

Zelina Vega's victory over Doudrop in the final of the tournament went just under 6 minutes. Put this in contrast to how Queen Of The Ring functions in today's WWE. The matches are frequently great and the winner claims a world title match on the SummerSlam card. In comparison to this massive upgrade, it's easy to see that the Queen's Crown felt like a token gesture to quieten disgruntled members of WWE's fanbase.
