15. The Booking Of AEW's Women's Division

AEW has one of the most talent-rich women's divisions of the 21st century in 2026. The likes of 'Timeless' Toni Storm, Thekla, Jamie Hayter and Mercedes Mone are the envy of every wrestling promotion on earth, and the competition for the biggest titles in the company is fiercer than it has ever been.

2023 was a very different time for women in AEW.

Following the rise and subsequent fall of Britt Baker, audience reaction at shows had gone noticeably flat for the women of All Elite. This was down to a lack of allotted time, some really bad angles and poorly thought-out high-profile results. The Outcasts were the worst offenders by some distance, but their reign of dullness was part of a more systematic problem in AEW's booking.

Outside of Jade Cargill, it felt like AEW didn't have faith in their women to build a connection with fans. There would rarely ever be more than one women's match on Dynamite, and mic time was at an all-time low. These issues began to be addressed around the time of Full Gear, but women felt like an afterthought in AEW for most of 2023.
