6. Snoop Dogg Saves Shane McMahon At 'Mania
Every WrestleMania show needs some filler. In the days before the show was ravaged with a billion adverts, skits were all the rage. The concept was simple: 'Mania 39 was being held in Los Angeles, The Miz had a gimmick that saw him believe he was a Hollywood megastar, so he would host the PLE (alongside West Coast royalty, Snoop Dogg) and be met by opponents for impromptu matches. It worked well enough on opening night with Pat McAfee, so the second go-around would be an even greater success...right?
Well, not exactly.
From the second Shane McMahon's music hit, there was a collective groan. A fun character once upon a time, Shane has done so much damage to his reputation by overplaying his role onscreen that his arrival on WWE television is a cause for concern more than excitement.
After throwing his trademark MMA-tinged punches at Miz, Shane attempted to leapfrog him and consequently tore his quadriceps. As McMahon writhed around in agony on the floor, Miz stalked his prey, only to be clocked in the face by Snoop Dogg. Calling referee Jessika Carr to the scene, Snoop then delivered the world's slowest People's Elbow and pinned The Miz. Snoop saved Shane (kinda), and The Miz went 0-2 on a WrestleMania weekend where he had no planned matches.
