3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 10)
2. Fuego Del Sol’s Own Work
It's important to remember that even squashes, which this five-minute showing effectively was, require someone skilled to bump around for the other guy and make him look awesome. Fuego Del Sol did that admirably here, and he even seemed to be enjoying the fact that fans were totally invested in the match.
Take a bow, Del Sol.
Let's hope Tony Khan remembers this favour on the backend, because Fuego has potential himself. Is he ever gonna be AEW World Champion? Probably not, but that doesn't mean he can't become a valuable addition to the midcard for years to come. This was as selfless a performance as you're likely to see in today's biz.
Hook should be thankful that Del Sol didn't sabotage his first big in-ring moment. Granted, that was never gonna happen, but the masked man standing across that ring from him did everything to make the Team Taz scrapper look like a wrecking machine.
That shouldn't be forgotten in amongst all the praise for Hook.
