3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 10)

1. PPV Quality

FTR Lucha Bros
AEW

This should've been the main event, damn it!

OK, fine, maybe it's churlish to complain when AEW are sticking matches this good on free television, and FTR vs. Lucha Bros always brings the goods regardless of card placement. They produced yet another scorcher in a string of them, and you could tell all four were motivated to tear the house down.

Hopefully, All Elite want to put a bow on FTR vs. Lucha for now. That'd make sense, because Rey Fenix and Penta got a noteworthy win over their rivals, and there doesn't seem to be anywhere else to go with the story in the short-to-medium term. Plus, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood literally just attacked Sting and Darby Allin.

The biggest challenge facing AEW could be finding another top-tier team who can work this well with Fenix and Penta. The company will have to get to work on that straight away, 'cause it'd be a bit of a bummer to go from this tremendous fare to something less than.
