3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 6 - Results & Review)
2. Stick To One Story
Another annoying AEW trope is launching headfirst into another story whilst one is still ongoing. They've done it far too often over the years, and there was a class example of it on Rampage. Eddie Kingston was cutting a promo when Sonjay Dutt, Jeff Jarrett and pals interrupted. Their point? To put Jay Lethal forward for an ROH World Title match.
That's cool, because that had already been teased on TV previously.
Then, for some reason, All Elite thought it'd be wise to book a four-way number one contenders match pitting Penta, Komander, Lince Dorado and Johnny TV against one another. The actual bout was fine and all, but...what's going on here, and why? It feels totally unnecessary to toss another challenger at Kingston when he already has one.
Making matters worse, Komander's title crack comes on Collision this Saturday night. So, in other words, AEW diluted Lethal's story with Eddie and hot-shotted someone else into the ROH Title mix for a quick match within the span of 24 hours. Why?!
