3 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's NXT
3. A Fork (Lift) In The Road
As an aside, I'm always a massive fan of wrestlers wearing more gear for a street fight. Extra pads, jeans, gloves, anything that's going to offer them a bit more protection shows that they've actually thought about the brutality that's in store and actually seels the danger of the match before it's even started. It's the little things, lads.
Anyway, as you might expect from a six-man, tornado-tag, street-fight, involving both the Cruiserweight Champion and the newly-crowned Tag Team Champions, this whole thing was a bit of a mess. Fair play to the guys in it though, rather than trying to craft some semblance of story in it they just got together and talked about what spots would be the most fun.
Throwing each other over the ropes, over the barricades and, at its peak, being joined by Imperium to have Fandango and Swerve dive off the top of a fork-lift truck, a laugh riot from start to finish. Having Swerve pin Escobar relatively clean also boots the door wide open for a Cruiserweight title rematch in the near future. You might have to turn your brain off slightly to enjoy both the match and the booking, but enjoy it you will.
